Bulgarian/Swedish trad impro folk mix on tambura and violin

Vladimir Vladimirov, magic tambura virtuoso from Stara Zagora in Bulgaria and Sofia Högstadius, violinist from Umeå have know each other since 2010 when Sofia studied Bulgarian folk music in the  Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv, Bulgaria where Vladimir is a teacher in conducting and tambura playing.

They started collaborating  and have since then developed a tight connection musically and experimenting with mainly Bulgarian and Swedish folk music, both traditional and modern.

They’ve toured in Sweden and Bulgaria and also worked together in Rila Music Exchange as musical leaders in 2015 and 2016. In April 2016 they were touring in Belgium, leading workshops and playing concerts in the festival Fiddlers on the Move.

Vladimir Vladimirov, magisk tamburavirituos från Stara Zagora i Bulgarien och Sofia Högstadius, Umeåviolinist med förkärlek för den bulgariska musiken har känt varandra sedan 2010 då Sofia flyttade till Plovdiv i Bulgarien för att studera folkmusiken på nära håll.
De började samarbeta under Sofias tid som student på musikhögskolan där Vladimir är dirigent och lärare – sedan dess har ett tätt samspel vuxit fram där de experimenterar med både svensk och bulgarisk, traditionell och nyskriven folkmusik.
